Who, what, why?
James and Jenna Rockett created the first version of Go Tempo several years ago, after Jenna became a group fitness instructor teaching cardio dance classes at Life Time Fitness.
At the time, Tempo Magic was the recommended app to use even though it was full of bugs and had a poor user experience. After witnessing Jenna's struggles with the app firsthand, James cried out: "there has to be a better way!" And thus, Go Tempo was born!
The current version of the app was released publicly in late 2023.
-
Who is the app made for?
Even though Go Tempo was designed with fitness instructors in mind, anyone can use it.
-
How much does it cost?
Go Tempo is currently free to use but there are future plans to add a premium subscription model which will add additional features.
While the app is free to use, a paid Apple Music subscription is required for full music playback.
-
Do I have to download an app?
Go Tempo is a web app, which means you can use it in any modern web browser, like Safari or Chrome. It works on smartphones, tablets and any other modern devices. Simply visit app.gotempo.net on your device to get started.
-
Can I play my own song files?
In the current version of Go Tempo, music must be added from Apple Music via the app, otherwise there is no way to play it.
-
Are there hardware requirements?
Generally, any smartphone or tablet released since 2020 should have no issues playing music with Go Tempo. An internet connection is required; the faster the better!

I'm having trouble with the app or I have a feature request. What do I do?
